AMERIAMERICAN IDOL'S Internet based competition heats up as a 13-year-old contestant makes the top 10 finals beating out SHIRLEY JONES (PARTRIDGE FAMILY) and PETER TORK (THE MONKEES). 13-year-old singer songwriter Dionne Lennon of NYC has been voted one of AMERICAN Idol's top ten finalists in their Internet based singer/songwriters competition. The Young "songster" has earned the #1 spot on the FOLK ROCK charts with her self-composed song "LAST DAY". Her song "TEENAGE YEARS" holds the #2 spot on the POP charts. Both Shirley Jones and Peter Tork who have sold millions of records and have had numerous Top Ten hits in the 60's and 70's failed to make the finals. Ms. Lennon had this to say about her success. "I think a lot of people voted for me because of my age but I still appreciate the votes and I am honored to have made the finals. There's a lot of good music in this contest." With American Idol ending it's fifth season, fans of the #1 rated show have turned to the Internet for their daily fix of "IDOL MANIA". And the voting has heated up with thousands of new votes each day making AMERICAN IDOL Underground the #1 internet radio station in the world. And the priemere place for up and coming musicians have their music heard.
